On January 13, 2023, Ahab return with new album The Coral Tombs — a monstrous new outing via Napalm Records that narrates another tale from the sea through earth shattering sound. Like that of its genre defining predecessors, The Coral Tombs treads down an expansive approach to the genre, luring you close with melancholic melody and battering you in with explosive guitars and drumming. Lead single Prof. Arronax' descent into the vast oceans, which features Chris Dark of Ultha, is apt in introducing one of next year's heaviest records guaranteed.

Guitarist Christian Hector comments:

"How else could we have started our new album after eight years wait? I love the unexpected, so it feels kinda natural to start that thunderous.

The song tells the first milestone of '20,000 leagues under the sea', when the Nautilus attacks and Professor Arronax and Conseil go over board and nearly drown. Of course we also introduce Captain Nemo in the first song. I cut the video myself as Napalm Records asked us for some videos - it’s a lyric nautic video. We’ll do two DIY videos and one professional video."
