The band's year-end contending, and most ambitious album, amazes more so in the flesh.

The Regent in Los Angeles on November 12, 2024:
Since its highly anticipated release, Blood Incantation's Absolute Elsewhere has circulated the globe to high acclaim, earning spots on many year-end lists (ours included) for its forward-thinking qualities. It's as far as one can get from bare bones death metal and provides much in the realm of exploration as layers unfold from each passing listen to the next. The same could be said of its live rendition throughout the band's recently concluded North American Tour. We had the privilege of documenting the Los Angeles tour stop at The Regent for your viewing pleasure.
Those in attendance stood in awe of the audiovisual spectacle on display, bridged by the band's admirable talent and the psychedelic projections that shined before them. Astral synth and vivid strobe lights set the tone early on as The Stargate (and its multiple tablets) proceeded to astound. Equal parts technical and soulful, Blood Incantation's craft was ethereal in its delivery. From its Pink Floydian-prog to its visceral death metal, each segment, or tablet if you will, from Absolute Elsewhere was exhilarating.
Denver's own have been on a consistent run since their strong entry with 2015's Interdimensional Extinction, never once seeming to settle and now culminating with Absolute Elsewhere. There's a warranted excitement about the band that is mutual across the board. A sold-out Regent would suggest so, but more so their composition and elite delivery. Scroll through and lose yourself to shots from the special performance.
Absolute Elsewhere is available now via Century Media (Listen).
