Oklahoma's boundless four-piece craft a compelling narrative continuing themes from its predecessor.
On October 11th, Chat Pile will release their new album, Cool World, via The Flenser — an anticipated follow-up to 2022's God Country and a continuation of momentum following the band's raging Sound & Fury Festival in Los Angeles over the weekend. Far from linear, Chat Piles craft is multi-layered and expansive, and lead single, I Am Dog Now, sets the tone early on.
Vocalist Raygun Busch comments on the album:
“'Cool World' covers similar themes to our last album, except now exploded from a micro to macro scale, with thoughts specifically about disasters abroad, at home, and how they affect one another. If I had to describe the album in one sentence. It’s hard not to borrow from Voltaire, so I won’t resist – 'Cool World' is about the price at which we eat sugar in America.”
