The Chicago doom metallers made a moving appearance at LA's underground stronghold.

With their new album Burden out now and in heavy circulation via Sargent House, REZN have further expanded upon their musical pantheon in riveting ways best experienced in the live setting. For as immersive as Burden and its connective predecessor, Solace (2023), are in their studio settings, it's at a show where their wall of sound is best felt, as evident on the night of their Los Angeles tour stop at the Lodge Room.
Prefaced by a mesmerizing set courtesy of the inventive Mute Duo, REZN built upon the vibrant tone set before them with flying colors. Burden is simply massive and from beginning to end, its effervescent nature radiated and rumbled throughout. It's only fitting we use a variety of lens filters for the shots we provide for you here today.
Much like the Adam Burke paintings that front the band's latest releases, REZN's songcraft is heavily divine. Possession opened the night in grand scale, transitioning effortlessly into the new Chasm. Vibrant strobes shined down on the four-piece as they treaded the lines between doom metal and psychedelic rock, allowing for a full audiovisual experience that shot chills up the spine with every shake of the ground. Each REZN member swayed to the slow burning tempo of their discography, crushing away as heads banged in unison. An abundance of up and coming bands, even established acts, hit the Lodge Room on the regular, but REZN stand tall amongst the heaviest, most comprehensive acts on the venue's roster.
