The 40th Anniversary celebration took over The Fillmore and breathed new life into a trailblazing selection as they hit their conclusion.

With four decades and an influential discography achieved since their inception, Skinny Puppy have excelled beyond measure with an ongoing tour to speak highly for it. The industrial ensemble are on the back end of a concluding North American tour that hit The Fillmore in San Francisco for a massive, career-spanning set that pulled from all ends of the band's stacked catalog.
Though bittersweet, the evening's festivities served as a proper send off for a band who's impact is still being felt today. Just prior to the start of this touring cycle, the band commented, “It’s been 8 long years since we’ve toured and there is no better way to end our run as a group than with a tour celebrating our 40th anniversary." San Francisco was ready to send them off the proper way.
In signature Skinny Puppy fashion, the performance was an audiovisual feast. Tantalizing from beginning to end, the cEvin Key (Kevin Crompton) led pioneers set theatre in motion with extraterrestrial costumes, killing of an alien fetus, demonic figures, and more to pair well with their moving soundtrack. VX Gas Attack kicked off this blend of performance art and vibrant industrial rock, transitioning into fan favorites like Worlock, I'mmortal, and Smothered Hope to name a few. No matter where you stand on the Skinny Puppy timeline, there was much to enjoy with 20 pulsing tracks to lose yourself to. The Fillmore was electric and the energy infectious from wherever you found yourself at the venue. If you're going to put an end to a momentous career, you best do it big and Skinny Puppy did just that.
